Today, we did what we all came here for - drove into Glacier National Park on the spectacular "Going to the Sun"  Highway.  We left here at 7:00am for the one hour drive to the West Glacier entrance to the park, hoping to be ahead of the majority of the 175 cars in the tour.  Unfortunately, the day was wet, cold, and overcast.  We had a little sun in the morning but most of the day was spent in heavy fog or rain.

Glacier NP is filled with high jagged peaks and clear cold streams fed by the glaciers or snow packs up on the mountain.  The road is an engineering marvel, completed in the 30's, that takes you up hair-raising turns, with rugged rock to the edge of the pavement on the inside and 3,000 foot drops just inches from the edge on the outside.  Logan Pass, the Continental Divide, is 6,646 feet.  The Model T is the perfect way to drive this road - slow, steady, and in an open car like ours, a 360 degree view.  Because there is a "rest day" tomorrow, with mostly local touring, we are planning to go back to the park, hoping to see it in the sun.  Hope you enjoy the photos.

P.S.:  The car ran really well, taking that mountain with no problems at all.
